DESCRIPTION:In an effort to provide community members with an opportunity to make informed voting decisions\, the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce Government & Public Policy Committee is excited to welcome you to our Candidate Forum featuring local candidates running in the contested August primary election for House of Representatives District 147\, serving the City of Cape Girardeau.\n\n \n\nBeginning at 5:30 PM\, all Chamber and community members are welcome to attend a brief social where you can visit with the candidates and other attendees. The forum will begin promptly at 6:00 PM\, and be completed no later than 7:00 PM\, with introductions\, questions on business-related topics\, closing statements\, and pre-submitted questions from the audience as time allows. Following the forum\, attendees will have the opportunity to follow up with candidates directly during the closing social ending at 7:30 PM. There will be beverages and light snacks available. Also\, hand sanitizer will be readily available and masks are optional. \n\n\n\nPlease be aware: \n\n	There will be no candidate bashing or unbecoming behavior during the event. Individuals participating in such behavior will be asked to leave. \n	Attendee information will not be shared with candidates\, however\, we are asking for registration to help us determine the number of attendees that will be joining us. \n	Only candidates officially running in the contested District 147 primary will be included in the forum. Campaigning for other races/elections will not be tolerated.
